AA Duracell Battery.

Hi Tony, Thanks for this. What I had in front of me was a box of batteries and a caliper. That and the Wikipedia page on battery standards. The numbers given by Wikipedia are 14.5 mm diameter x 50.5 mm length with no tolerance specified. Per the AA Duracell number these are maximum numbers for size envelop, and what I am finding, of course is that real batteries are smaller than that by a few tenths of a mm. Permitted under the standard is one whole millimeter of variation below those two sizes. So the acceptable minimum size is 13.5 mm x 49.5 mm. Duracell seems to manufacture towards the upper end of the envelop, which makes sense because it provides an ANSI legal battery with a higher contact pressure than a batter made at the lower end of the standard..
Comments:
Hi Maneki, I have added a screenshot of the tech spec from Duracell to show where I got my information from, if you have difficulty reading it you can download the whole lot as .pdf's from this site...http://www.duracell.com/en-US/Global-Technical-Content-Library/Product-Data-Sheets.jspx. The sizes for my batteries are correct... :-)

Thanks again for your model, and again for the follow up.
