Any chance we could get a .STEP version? The IGES version imported but there are a lot of surface errors (I've always had problems with complex models and IGES format)
I mean surfaces, there is too many surfaces with only G0 continuity. This is why it looks bad. I didnt mean renders, but I can send it to you and you can add it to your picture. It should look nice from that distance.
Yeah Mateusz, you could always post the other car models and let people know about the surfacing, see if anyone had good ways to approach it. A challenge! Still would be a good go by to recreate another model. Definitely keep'em coming!
I can promise you that I will post the next car project... when it is ready (and worth to post :-)).
Notice the picture with cars in the background. It is a Polish car - "Syrena 105" and it is one of the default backgrounds in CATIA. Ahh, so proud to be Polish ... ^. ^
Thanx Scott, just went to there website and had a little look and watched vid of there software, Just a little daunting all this rendering software and what one to start with I have tried Bunk speed and now messing around with Keyshot2. I have got 3Ds Max but still not got a clue on how to use it yet. Any suggestions what I would be better starting out with?
William, don’t listen to Scott. The folks at Luxology definitely say that modo isn’t as simple as say KeyShot to use but it’s much-much more powerful, allows more control, gives more functionality etc. If you already have Keyshot then use this to learn the basics, and later you can pretty much transfer a lot of that over to any other rendering software.
Of course in another way Scott is perfectly correct - modo is a very nice package.
Siim is right, if you are just starting out KeyShot (or even PhotoView 360 if you are using Solidwork) is probably a better choice for a beginner. But for value and performance modo would still be my choice.
Thank Siim & Scott for the advise, I have took it on board what the two of you have said.
:)
as you said Siim I will learn how to use KeyShot first then move on with what Scott said,
:)
Sorry but I can't share with you Catia file. I can recomend you my Audi TT tutorial (it is in SolidWroks but might be helpful) available in my YouYube channel, you can also check Camaro tutorial (by Matthew Perez). There is one free car tutorial in Catia V5, look for "dickson sham catia tutorial r8 rebuild". If you really want to build a simple car in Catia it should be enough.
It is great Scott! Front wheels should be little turned?/twisted? (ehh my english...), but it is my fault, not your. Feel free to "Playing around with GIMP" and my models :)).
Thank you.
Guess I have to update the GrabCAD Car Collection again. :) Nice work Mateusz!
10 months agoScott, hopefully it will be endless job.

10 months agoI see you also have a BMW Z4 on your youtube page. Any chance well get to see it here on GrabCAD? ^_^
10 months agoIt is a Z4 and Bentley MK6. but I decided to not publishing them because they aren't well made and look bad. These were my first models.
10 months agoThey look good to me? I know I would love to see them, maybe we can help fix them up if you aren't happy with them.

10 months agoAwesome work ! did you use freestyle or Icem Shape Design to model it ?
10 months agoNice render Scott, what do you use to render?
10 months agoThanks William, that was done in PhotoView 360.
10 months agoThanx Scott, just so many good programmes out there for rendering I just don't know were to start LoL'ss.
10 months ago@smashing.cadillac I draw it using GSD (GenerativeShapeDesign) and FreeStyle
@Scott Bruins Is it default PhotoView enviroment on your pic? (very nice btw). I think that it isn't (I use PV 2010). Where did you get it?
10 months agoThanks, glad you like it. It is not part of the default PhotoView environments. It is studio 24 (pack 2) of these HDRI sets http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3005
