Great idea Scott! We need an area for collections for sure. Maybe even the ability to create our own collections.

I plan to upload a color and a grey version. I like the gray but i feel like a color image would be nice as well. Cars like the Mach5 really deserve to be in color.

Thanks Silvio! The credit should go to those individuals who modeled the cars, I just rendered them. I'm a little embarrassed to admit I haven't modeled a car yet but its on my list of things to do. :)

i love this, Scott :) But the JPG seems broken in your zip. maybe a bad upload?

no error message. JPG image itself is broken and shows only half of the picture

Try it now. I was having problems with it corrupting the .zip so I changed to a .rar instead. Let me know if that works.

I actually had to order more RAM to handle rendering all the cars on GrabCAD!!! Update coming soon!

how about making two renderings and join them in photoshop (or even paint :)).

That's what I am doing for the still shot (rendering 3-4 cars at a time and stitching them together in GIMP) but I'm want to do a fly-by animation so i need to have more of the cars in the field of view at one time.

Can't wait to see this animation.

Thanks Scott for adding my vintage car model to this collection.........I'm honoured.... the cars in this collection are done by some of the best surface monsters(surface modelers) we have on GrabCAD.......... my car is definitely of lower CAD quality........ but the car is well received by the GrabCAD community........... Thank you all!!!!!!!......... I will surely add something better to this wonderful collection in near future........:-)

for now I spotted one issue, link in description leads to my Audi TT, on the rendering it is Matt's Audi TT.

The Cemal requested that I link back to the origonal owners model so I didn't really think it counted as a "GrabCAD car". J E Paz tractor is great but isn't really a "car" so I decided to leave it out.

I got my additional 8GB of RAM last night (16GB total now) so I can get cracking on an animation. Its kinda fun to be able to have all 43 cars open at once. :)

I started doing renderings of the entire Grabcad cars collection .
I take the list in order and I am currently in the Bugatti Veyron.
I'll try to do different styles of renders ... realistic or very graphic.

My goal is also to show that we can make images quickly.
All renders shall not exceed 45 minutes of calculation and 30 minutes post prod.

It would be very helpful if models are uploaded at life size i.e. 1:1, or if not modeled at 1:1 the scale should be listed in case someone else wants to use it. In a CAD system, why not model 1:1? If you are trying to resize something, it is much less difficult to go up or down from full size.

I'm not knocking any of the awesome models here, but it would be helpful to let people know what scale you are working with if it's not 1:1.

I understand your opinion.
But some measures have been taken from a replica.
Drawing on a smaller scale makes the lightweight design. Thus improves the performance of my PC.
I do not like too small nor too big.
