It is easier. It you want to make a model only for nice rendering, 3ds max is more suitable software. 99% of GrabCad cars models (and 100% of my cars models) were made only for visualization, btw. they are useless in automotive. Look at these comparison, which one looks better?

A nice little bit of info there Mateusz
well no need for me to try my surface modeling with Inventor now it will be 3D's Max thank you for the good advice :)))
it doesnt mean that these software can genrate hard copies for assembly sections... in the end CAD rules these software are used as tools concept or can say sekcth ups but CAD make it real.... so keep practicing u r doing good..
btw nice video hope u will break record somday in fastest modling... keep up the good work
The difference between the polygonal modelers (3ds Max) and solid modelers (SolidWorks) is something Adam and I have been covering a lot on the Engineer vs Designer podcast http://evd1.tv/
Most of the people we interview are using a combination of both, going back and forth or starting in a polygonal modeler then bringing it into SolidWorks to refine depending on what the product is.
If your really interested in car design and concept car modeling, 3ds max is a must to learn.
Thank you also for the good info Josh I was going to start my first car in 3D's Max later tonight
:))) but will go have a little look @ that podcast first :)))

8 months agoREALLY Good rendering!! Impressive! Are you using V-ray?
8 months agoI only hope that cars models made in 3ds will not come to GrabCad, becouse we have no chance with our models made in CAD software...
8 months agoMateusz would you say it was better to do a surface car model with 3D's Max then over SW or Inventor?
8 months agoThe only word I can think right now is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!....;-)
Pablo this is just amazing......... ;-)
