This may be a little more robust than what you are looking for. Safe working load is double the requirement. Operation as follows: Red foot pedal operates the lever (returned by a spring) connected to the wheel that drives the shaft connecting to the bevel gears (in yellow). The bevel gears turn the HDPE clover cam which drives the HDPE linear slide. The slide is bolted to through a bushing to the end of the handle that beats the heart of this system, a 2-ton Torin Bottle Jack. The bottle jack pushes the bar connected to the lever arms, the lever arms pivot upwards. Since the loading on the jack is less than 25% of the max it should not require additional catches. The motion is nearly step-less.The framing under the table top is raised and moves along the bearings (blue) and is guided by the legs that interlock with the primary frame. To lower the table the red knob may be twisted to release or lock the hydraulic pressure. The knob connects to the shaft that drives the worm gear that actuates the smaller shaft connect to the jack pressure release. The knob may be extended out for easier reach. Steel framing is fine, angle or channel would be most appropriate. The dimensions in this model are at the maximums shown, the system can be scaled or reversed as required. One more note, for the organization assembly bolted to the back of the table 80/20 inc makes a great system that is light, cost effective and will create thousands of options for your customers. I left the paneling off so you could see the mechanisms, the current paneling scheme will work fine with this system. Estimated cost is $325 US not including bulk purchase discounts.Thank you.
Amazing Model Tim. I made my table last week but I was holding off on uploading it until near the end of the competition. I often have the same problem, I have a really good idea, I sit on it and someone else does it before I can. I must admit though this mechanism (though a bit complicated) is hard to compete with and I can tell you put a lot of though into it.
Great Job and Good Luck
5 months agoKind of you to say Khaleb, I am looking forward to your post, hopefully more refined and expedient than my own, good luck my friend.
