This time with housing, this might be a little too "race car" and not enough "supercar" but I'll work some more...
This model gets rid of the rocker box, housing and lever from the previous design, the bolts can be replaced by clips to install easier, but they look a little more aggressive so I left it like that. There should be minimal changes to the current hole in the bodywork, I made it to fit in the same hole, the profile is a lot lower than before and plenty of space to grab the lever.
The cable will be visible to the user, I don't think it's a bad thing, I looked closely at the cable on the pictures and it's a good looking cable, no reason to hide it :)
It might not be stamping easy to manufacture but I can easily machine something like this on my 3-axis without too much hassle.
Thanks for looking.
a good start! aluminum and carbon - the perfect combination.
8 months agoI like it! How far do you have to pull the lever to get 20mm cable travel? I would say moving the cable farther from the pivot so you only had to pull the handle a small amount would fit well with their extra door hinge clearance constraint.
Good work.
