Here is my concept for the Koenigsegg handle.
We’ve got a mixed material, with carbon fiber for the case (it’s almost like the original one) and aluminium handle (3mm thickness).
The main goal was to remind the sport hood look with agressive lines, an air intake look which enhance the ergonomy and make an easy access to fixing screw.
I hope you’ll like it and don’t hesitate to leave a comment !
looking forward to your renders :)
8 months agonow I can't decide which one is my favorite :(
8 months agogreat design Benjamin!
@Robert : Now you have some ;)
@Mateuz : Glad to read your nice comment. Competition is tough and there are lots of great handle design... :)
8 months agoI agree, this is why I gave up.
8 months agoBut your submission is one of the best in my opinion.
Great style and great branding Benjamin. Very clean looking.
8 months ago@mateusz : Come on man ! Why you gave up ? You've got great skills, I'm sure you'd have done a very good entry... ;)
Thanks again for your nice words :)
@Josh : thanks a lot ! I'm glad to read you like my design :)
8 months agoBTW, I'm really sorry I didn't come back to you for the rendering tutorial because I've got lots of work and not that much free time. I promise you that in 2 weeks you've got them :) (I've already set-up my sceanarii and modelled all I have to for the tutorial - lots of CAD models to upload in grabcad for those tutorials ;)
very nice design ben! my only comment to you is about the travel. Your cable attachment point is just under 19mm away from the pivot. with this distance I dont think you physically have enough travel on your handle to get the 20mm cable pull. That and as the handle rotates you are actually dragging the cable against its opening in the CF body. I think if you make the cable jacked retainer on your CF piece and maybe move the pivot point farther away for the cable you would nail it. great render too by the way.
8 months agoHi Matt ! Thanks for your comments, I didn't check the course, so I'll.
For the location of the opening, I'll check that too, but as there is force applied on the cable, it may have to pull the handle back to the rotation, that's why I put it on the top side.
Anyway, thanks, I'll give a look tomorrow and make some slight changes :)
8 months agoVery nice my friend!!!
8 months agoI love the edge design style of your handle.
It prefectly respect the spirit of koenigsegg cars.
Nice presentation to... I also like the lighting logo!!!
Very good work!!!
@Sylvain : Thanks my friend :) I really appreciate to see that you like my design and presentation. You are a reference for me ;)
BTW, model uploaded ! Change view things to be sure that the cable will make at least 20mm course, and added a slight bossage on the pivots to ensure that the handle will stay in horizontal position when it is closed.
Video coming soon :)
8 months agoSimply stunning! The design, renderings and presentation are perfect! I want one for my car...
8 months agoThank you for this great comment!!!
8 months agoAs I told you, your design is very well done !!!
For me it's important to feel that each shape or each curve make sense. All of that be found in this project, including mechanical approach that fits well in your design.
Wonderful Benjamin!!!!!!!!!!
