Ok, while working on second one, I've decided to build something really simple based on the existing design. This model is close to the existing but the push-pull mechanism is different. Pictures shows it in fully opened and fully closed position. It also has a simple latch to secure it in closed position. I'd just thought it is the most reliable design in terms of water-proof stuff.
Again, will add bits-and-bolts closer to the end, would love to hear critics first :)
Second model is due to come, just want it to be perfect, so do not switch the channel :)
UPD: Final model uploaded now, with frictional element (plastic inlet) as a position smoothing solution. Another system can be also implemented (ball on the spring in the pushing pin + stepped plastic inlet, so kind of ratchet system), but I consider plastic frictioner much more reliable in considered conditions.
UPD: Another version is added (NOTE: STEP file is inside zip folder, 'cos grabcad does not allow you to download more than 3 versions). Last screenshots shows, that in this version there is no latch, but instead a knurled set nut mechanism for securing it in any position (starting to look more and more alike English window :)). Credits to David Thomas for brilliant idea!
This is good enough to make me stop work on mine now! How about adding a small bar that slides with the handle and a knurled set screw to make adjustments secure?
10 months agoThanks very much David, this is brilliant Idea. I've modified it a little bit, 'cos I think we do not need sliding bars. So I've added 2 star-washers and knurled set nut. The version is added :)
