Required dimensional references for Tikitreiler competition. This is the distance form the hub surface to the center of the spring.

@ CAD-MECA …. Well look at it this way ……. The type of system I believe is used here is the cable brake system. It is activated by the tow hitch which is compressed when the vehicle brakes are applied. The compression of the tow hitch activates the trailer brakes by cable, if the braking of the vehicle is hard the momentum of the trailer compresses the tow hitch and the trailer brakes are applied but to a lesser degree than that of the vehicle and as soon as the compression relaxes a bit the trailer brake is released. So the degree that the trailer brakes are transferring the load to the axle has already happened. If you want to go that far, take the load and calculate the vector load affect on the axle at differing deceleration. …… I am too old to go down that street ….. maybe after so many year I just know ……. Now don’t laugh …. HeHe
@ CAD-MECA …. You know what, I could be wrong …. But at my age I will blame the keyboard and the coffee.
Great insight Doug, I would never laugh, experience is the most valuable thing. Your assumptions are absolutely logic and you certainly make a good point. But well, it’s my philosophy to not take anything for granted and if in doubt, always ask even if it’s annoying… hehehe.
I would like to know what Tikitreiler has to say about the subject. Just to be sure.
