Very nice. To my eye, the engine appears to be a little out of scale; too small. I build hot rods and I have a 69 bug sitting around waiting to get hacked up. There's about seven old V-8s sitting around in my shop too, so I've been looking at this stuff and drawing it constantly. I think the engine in your model should be just about 2-4% larger. I could be wrong. Nice work though.
There used to be a kit available to adapt a Buick aluminum block V8 into the back of a Bug. There was also a kit to install a Chevy V8 mid chassis, but I think they used a Toronado or Eldorado Transaxle.
