    How is my rank calculated?

    Our ranking system is our “secret sauce”, we use a mix of attributes to calculate your rank versus everybody else. The number of high quality CAD models that you have uploaded and shared with the community carries the most weight in the ranking formula. So the easiest way to rank higher (and show up in the first few pages of our directory of engineers) is to be generous and upload more good quality models.

    The ranking is calculated daily and the latest add-on to the number is the change compared to yesterday. If you have climbed the chart, the positive number in the brackets shows how many other engineers you have taken over. If the number in brackets is negative, then sorry, others have uploaded more models or been more active in the community, hence your ranking has fallen and you might have a shot tomorrow to claim your spot back if you contribute with models, renderings, videos, answers or comments. If it is zero, then there has been no change.

    Improving my profile – how do I get to 100%?

    Hitting 100% is relatively easy. All you need to do is fill out all the fields in your profile and upload five CAD models, that’s it. Note that as we improve and expand the profile page and add new data fields your % can fall under 100% again.

    Why does filling out my profile and uploading CAD models matter? It makes it easier for other engineers and companies approach you with job offers and other proposals. If you apply for CAD job offers in GrabCAD then we use your profile and the files you have uploaded to do the initial round of assessment of how well you might fit this job. No info and shared CAD files – no work.

    How much money will I make when participating in Challenges?

    With each challenge we will announce the prize money at the start of the challenge. This might make you to take part in the project or give some indication how complicated the Company organizing the challenge thinks the project to be.

    How do I get paid?

    Payment is made with PayPal. Currently we cannot make the payment with different methods. When you have been selected as a winner, we will contact you about the payment details.

    What software do I have to use?

    You are free to choose your own preferred software unless client has specified it in the challenge. In such case you must use the specified software. Generally STEP/IGES formats are required to be included with your Challenge model.
