Thousands of tutorials to learn from
I am going crazy, thinking about what to do for my final year Mechanical Engineering project. Any and all ideas are welcomed. I will be doing the project in a group of two or four students. Please give me suggestions as to what can be done, for the project. Time and cost are a factor. Project duration is 32 weeks.
Behavioral modeling (BMx) is also good topic if you are going for engine as William suggested.
Project on FEM Analysis of Support Bracket, U Bracket, 3D Frame etc.
Thanks for the suggestions Sudhir...... will definitely consider this for the project.....:-)
Nice Sudhir
Yip there sure is so much more you can do with the engine other than what is required and that way you have went about and beond what was asked Pranav and for effort alone will up your grad that is if you have the work done right that you have went out your way for to do that little bit extra more is always better when going for the grade :)))))
=) How about simulation in different software and then comparing the results and preparing a report on them. This can come in handy also. :D
That sure would work and also that is that bit extra Sudhir what a great idea :)))
Pranav enginer are fun LoL'ss I might not be saying that next term when I am doing the mechanical engineering course and having to do all the maths and everything else that goes with it LoL'ss anyways if you do chance you mind I have a set of plans for a nice little V8 that is an actual working enginer have a look @ V8 Model Engine on if you want them just let me know mate :)
But on a more serious note Engine simulation does sound tempting.......
William, it would be great if you could send me the V8 engine plans.....:-)
The complexity of Engines and Heat always scare me....... lol........ Heat is something I cannot understand....... I know being a Mech Engg this should be my territory, but it isn't.....:-((
But I think its time that I face my fear...... I need to learn Engines...... not for grade..... but for pride....lol....;-)))))
Make a device which make a water from air that is cheap and which is not consuming much energy.
We have a draught.
I think that you can find all parts for these device for cheap. I suggest to use a adsorption process, it's not require compressor only heat. Main playing is to design a exchanger where water will be condensate. Primary role for this device will be irrigation of crop fields. Necesary power will be a photovoltaic collector that your device can work on night.( power for fan)
A portable bridge. For use where there's been a natural disaster and the ground has washed away in places.
"refrigerator heat is use in water heater"
and also some sites refer..

Our seniors had completed FEM (Static & Dynamic) of double girder overhead traveling crane. :)
Hmmm you can never go wrong with something to do with an engine Pranav as there is a lot of moving parts and also a lot to know how it all works right with ratios ect, ect, ect and if you are really adventures build something for that engine to go in to.......
how about looking at the aerodynamic properties of surface roughness of an object (F1 car or boat)? and if it actually has an affect on drag? Theres some interesting stuff in this area, like using a sharkskin like surface to reduce drag.
Just a thought
