     Be aware that you can do this action for other features also....Not all the buttons are standard availlable in the toolbars

     i use Solidworks, but the sketches that I download are .jpg files. I've try and open them with Microsoft photo viewer and other plain old image viewers, but they always open with a blank screen.

     I have the solution for you.

     01.Start a new sketch.
     02.klick SKETCH PICTURE
     03. This is not standard available in the sketch options.
     04. Richt klick right-above in the main workbar
     05. Customize (below)
     06. Commans (above)
     07.Go to sketch
     08.Find the SKETCH PICTURE button
     09.Drag this button on to the sketch toolbar top of screen.
     10.If you than click this button you are able to insert image from hard drive

     That's not what the problem is. The sketch files I download from GrabCad are empty, no image.

     Have you tried the help function in SW.
     Search for SKETCH PICTURE, this might get you further...Suc6
