Flexible Hoses in Autodesk Inventor

I need to be able to run hoses from one end of my assembly to the other. This often includes movement in all 3 axes. I do not have Tube and Pipe Design, so I need to be able to do this "the hard way". Is there a way to design a part file with the hose in it and then place it into my main assembly and position the planes where I need them and the hose will adjust to fit? I have tried to use this tutorial: Tutorial: How to make flexible hose/wire by Autodesk Inventor
but it is just not enough of a description for me and I can't quite figure out what's going on.

I would use the Sweep, with some planes on the two locations/connections of the hose. Then use 3d sketch between them.
