Thousands of tutorials to learn from
Got a question from one fellow engineer about this. ZWCAD should be very similar to AutoCAD, use the dwg format but is quite cheaper.
Anyone using it or had any experience of potential limitations etc?
No, but Draftsight is a very good 2D CAD program and is free. It is much like AutoCAD and uses DXF or DXF
At my work we recieve a couple thousand dxf and dwg each year from customers worldwide that were saved from many different cad programs of different years. Draftsight has opened them all except a very few, like less then 2%. I believe even those we went back to the customer and asked them so resave it and trying a diffent option (such as type, ver.# eg R10,R12,R2000 etc). We used to use ACADSee to open then down convert to in Cadkey (only takes ver R12 an lower). Good luck
Thank you! It's great helpful,DraftSight could change the CAD industry one day in the near future I think.
Hi Alex! We use ZWCAD on daily basis and are extremely pleased with it :) It delivers what it promises: a cheaper user friendly AutoCAD alternative. Basically if the user has AutoCAD experience they can start using ZWCAD without any special training. ZWCAD is available for a free trial at: http://www.zwsoft.com/en/download/
