Is there a set height for title blocks, if not what is the standard height that people/ companies use?
Thanks
185x65 A0.
That's what we used for drawings.
Yeah depends on paper size, ill'd say as long as you can read all your text, then you're fine.
Google NASA drawing standards. A version from the 90's is available. It has a great deal of info on titleblocks and sheet layout in general.
Thanks i googled it and it hand lots of stuff there that is helpful for my current unit on CAD standards. Thanks
It largely depends on the size of paper, size of the drawing, and what you want to include in the title block. My suggestion, is to place a desired drawing in a paper size of your choice. Then start drawing the title block around the drawing, including all relevant fields. What paper size(s) are you using?
I forgot to mention this: Inventor has a variety of pre-made title blocks.
1) Open an Inventor drawing (.idw).
2) Look at the left panel ("Model")
3) Look at "Drawing Resources"
4) Click "Title Blocks"Two choices will show up: ANSI A and ANSI Large. This will change depending on the size of paper, and your units. There are other choices depending on your drawing units (metric, imperial). The path of choices is the same, regardless of units. These are pre-made, so you could use those, or create your own. That's a good tutorial subject.
I hope this helps. When in doubt, use what the program provides.
No problem. If you had to design your own, which I've done, just use some common sense. If you can fit all the info you need in the most efficient way, do it. Try to make the title block as short as you can, so you can have the largest usable area for drawings. I hope this helps.
Thanks was just wondering because they made us design our own title block. I agree with the US using the same paper size it would make everything alot easier.
I checked the ISO drawings, and you can select A3/A4 paper sizes. If you do, you can see the title block change as you change the paper size. I wish the US would use ISO sizes...
Sorry, I should have guessed ISO sizes. I live in the States, so mine defaults to US sizes. The same idea should apply. I'll check for you.
