Try to install SolidWorks Explorer
http://www.solidworks.com/sw/products/free-cad-software-downloads.htm

If this soft is installed, then In Creo I can open .SLDPRT

I'm not familiar with your program but If ProE can read Step or Iges formats then...
Use GrabCAD Workbench. Upload your file to workbench then you can right click on the uploaded file and select "download as". You can download the file in the format of STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid, ACIS, JT, or VRML.

Here's a tutorial for doing that:

DATAKIT CrossManager

Perfect!

What if you do not have SW? How do you convert? Or can you get a free version of SW that would enable you to convert?

If you are using SW when you hit save as (sldprt being standard for part ) hit the down arrow right of it & it will give you many options to save your design under. If I was in front of my Pc I would take a screen shot.

go to file > save as > [select the format] .STEP

Open the .sldprt file in solidworks that you want to save in any other format
