How do you create a solid part from an IGES file?

I have an iges file that contains data from a CMM machine. I want to turn that into a solid part for illustration in a report I'm doing.

I have Autodesk Inventor 2012 and 2013 as well as PTC Creo Elements, but I'm not too (at all) familiar with the latter.

I had a look at your data file, and while it's an IGES file, the information it contains is known as a point cloud. With some research into point clouds, and you can see what formats either software package supports. With some luck your CMM machine can generate the right format for you.

I've never created a part from a point cloud data, but I know that it can be done. Good luck!

Thanks for the help, it's for a university project due next week. It's only a small part of it so I'll just explain the problems with it and have a bash at modelling it later.
