How to animate a piston rod in Keyshot?

I want to animate a piston rod to move the way it should, like in this video from 0.08: http://youtu.be/zdJvpPd-16M

The problem is to make the rod rotate around a pin, while the pin is also rotating around an axis. I can make the pin rotate the correct way, and I'm also able to make the rod rotate around the pin, but it's not following the pin's movement, it just rotates around the starting position of the pin.

Can anyone help me with this? Or is any other way to animate this correctly?

Hi Márton, you'll want to use pivot points in your animation. These are objects (parts) in your model for the piston/camshaft/other bits to rotate around.

The problem is, that if I import a primitive object (in my case, a cylinder) and I move it to its correct position, then I use this primitive as a helper object for a rotation, its position is not updated, the animated part still rotates around the original axis of the primitive. By original I mean the position where it was imported - no matter how I move the primitive, its axes don't move with it. It's like the helper object doesn't have a local coordinate-system, only a global.

I have the same problem. Did you ever figure it out?

Unfortunately not..
