What is a good free way to convert autodesk inventor files to step iges etc?
Thanks
The best way to convert a lot of Inventor files to STEP or IGES is the Task Scheduler. It comes with Inventor and is a tool that is fast and easy to use.
I figured it out. You just open task scheduler then click create new task, export, then open the files you want to export in the window that comes up and change the files extention in the column the furthest to the right to the filetype you want to convert to.
That is new to me also, thanx for the info there James will need to look into this one
:)))))
Thank you Dallas! Sorry about the incomplete description, I got a little side tracked.
If you have an assembly file with all the parts you can choose to export into step. Then if someone ιμπορτσ the step file into Inventor he will see an assembly icon in the model browser. expanding the tree he will see all the parts. Then he can double click each one and save them in the desired format. I don't know if the same way works if someone imports the step file in solidworks, pro/e or other software.
