  to be honest i tried and wasn't able to make it (my knowledge is still rudimentary),

  my line of approach was making single helix datum curve using equation with two turns,then copying into different planes,connecting ends of helix to each other. then variable section sweep.

  height=

  x=cos(t*turn*360)
  y=sin(t*turn*360)
  z=height*t

     OK, I understand the curve is not driven by equation
