Tutorial on extruding curved surface in SolidWorks.

    Here is the tutorial.

    1. Step 1

      Start SolidWorks in Part mode.

      Medium

    2. Step 2

      Draw a spline and make in construction geometry.

    3. Step 3

      Click on the text tool under sketch tab.

    4. Step 4

      Select the spline as the curve and write the text. Uncheck the Use Document font and click on font.

      Select Arial and change height type to points and select 72. & click OK.

      I have changed the case of the text. It is not necessary.

      Extrude it.

    8. Step 8

      Top plane>>Sketch.

    9. Step 9

      Draw a spline. This spline will define the curvature of the text.

      Offset it.

      Now select the extruded surface under surfaces tab.

      Extrude the surface by any height.

      Under surfaces tab select Cut with surface.

      Select the front surface and the direction to be outside and click OK.

      Repeat the same step for the other surface and keep the direction to be outside the surface.

      Hide the extruded surface.

      Now we have the text curved.
