  Tutorial to make a mug in Catia V5

  1. Step 1

     Make a part as shown in the image using revolve feature in surfacing or in part modeling.

     

  2. Step 2

     Invoke a sketch on yz or xz plane

     

  3. Step 3

     Sketch a spline as per your required handle.

     

  4. Step 4

     Insert a plane at the tip of the spline and click ok.

     

  5. Step 5

     Draw your handle's profile and make it coincident with the spline in the center.

     

  6. Step 6

     If you were in GSD then go to part design workbench
     insert->surface based feature->thick surface.

     

  7. Step 7

     hide all the surfaces

     

  8. Step 8

     after hiding the surface your model will look like this

     

  9. Step 9

     Now use "rib" feature. Invoke it from the main menu by using insert->features->rib definition or find it in the tool bar.
     Select the profile as made in step 5, center curve as the spline and check "merge rib" option.

     

  10. Step 10

      Here's you mug ready to use.
