  Tutorial: Prismatic joint in Catia V5 simulation

  1. Step 1

     Insert->existing component->browse for the parts

     

  2. Step 2

     Open DMU Kinematics workbench

     

  3. Step 3

     Insert->new mechanism

     

  4. Step 4

     Fix the base part

     

  5. Step 5

     Insert->joints->prismatic joint or choose "prismatic joint" from the menu shown.

     

  6. Step 6

     Fill in the appropriate spaces in the dilog box shown

     

  7. Step 7

     A dilog box pops out saying that the mechanism can now be simulated

     

  8. Step 8

     Click on update position

     

  9. Step 9

     Update mechanism->ok

     

  10. Step 10

      Click on "simulation with commands"

      

  11. Step 11

      Click on "play" button to simulate
