Step 1
Start Solidworks.
Step 2
Sketch>>Right Plane.
Step 3
Make a circle let dia be 100mm.

Extrude it by 200mm.

Sketch>>Top Plane.

Choose Normal to view or press ctrl+8.

Make a centre line that passes through the axis and coincident with the centres of both the circular faces.

Choose Text in Sketch tab.

Choose the centre line as the curve.

Type in the text. For example GrabCAD.com.

Adjust the alignment (center) and the size of the text (let be 48mm).

Click OK and exit the sketch.

Choose Wrap in the features tab.

Select sketch2.

The wrap feature property manager will show.

Choose the cylinderical face.
Step 17
Change the emboss height to 10mm.

Click OK. The Embossed text appears.

Click Wrap1 and choose edit feature.

Change wrap type to Deboss.

Click OK and you can see that this time the text is dugged into the cylinder.

Again edit the feature and this time choose Scribe.

Click OK and you can see the scribed sketch on the cylinderical face.
