DESIGNATION Maintenance /Fabrication Engineer In charge of all Fabrication and maintenance related matters of the entire group of Companies. Coordinates incoming multi-discipline maintenance and repair work requests for the Plant. Supervises field maintenance, overhaul and repair activities in the Plant, on mechanical and rotary equipment such as centrifugal compressors, high pressure and high speed steam turbines, reformers, furnaces, waste heat boilers, steam generation units and associated pipe work and control valves. Participates in the planning of major shutdown work, which includes identification of spare parts, preparation of equipment checklists and coordination of requirements for external services. Monitors the continuous performance of all equipment in his area and participates in troubleshooting to improve performance or provide technical solutions to Plant problems. Repair and installation of all kinds of overhead, semi gantry, Gantry and Tower Cranes. Batching Plant Installation and repair of Chillers, Mixers, Conveyors and all related batching machineries. Supervises and directs the activities of assigned personnel in the Fabrication Section. Performs supervisory function at the level established by Management. Supervises, Co-ordinates and directs the Central Workshops Fabrication Section, which includes pipe fitting, welding and boiler making activities. Ensures all work is carried out safely and according to safe working requirements as directed by the Work Permit System. Checks daily the work progress and inspects completed work to ensure conformity with crafts standard. Inspects work performed by contractors for compliance with established specifications and standards. Liaises with client Inspection Engineers regarding quality control, inspection and testing of all welding and pipe fabrication. Arranges for and ensure that tools, equipment, spare parts and other materials are available for field and Central Workshops’ maintenance work at all times and initiates list of spare parts and materials for replenishment of stock. Ensures proper use of new as well as reconditioned material and good housekeeping practice in Central Workshops and field. Receives work orders and determines priorities based on work schedules and commitments, if necessary visits work site to determine extent of work and other requirements, obtains appropriate materials, special tools and equipment as required, assign craftsman to the various jobs and provides necessary technical instructions.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS • NDT LEVEL II ENGINEER Certified by ASNT. • Certified Safety Officer IADC (International Association of Drilling Contractors) 2011 • HND in Mechanical Engineering with Credit (JPI )-Republic of South Africa-2000 • Diploma in Project Management with Credit (JPI) -Republic of South Africa-2000 • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with Credit (JKUAT)-Kenya-1992-1994 COMPUTER LITERATE (WITH EFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND GOOD REPORT WRITTING SKILLS) Fluent in English PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ● NDT Radiographic interpretation RT level II ● Radiographic Testing RT level II ● Penetrant Testing level II ● Magnetic Particle Testing level II ● Welding Inspector level II Qualified & certified in accordance with SNT-TC-1A written document.
