Rabaconda challenges you to create portable folding work desk for dirt bike riders and racing teams to be used at the track and garage for servicing the vehicles.
This challenge is about designing compact, portable and collapsible working desk, mainly focused for motorcycle riders needs, but could also be used in other areas.
The desk should be easy to set up, has holders for tools, spray cans and paper roll, drawer(s) for tools, small spare parts and goggles.
The desk can be used instead of tool case and has also clean working surface. It should have feet for setting up outdoors and also a possibility to easily fix on a wall.
You must include:
- STEP or IGES file
You are encouraged to include:
- Native CAD file
- Additional renderings
Design guidelines (UPDATED April 2):
- Production-ready (medium sized batches)
- Unit production cost around 80USD
- Easy to setup
- Rigid and stable
- Dust and weatherproof when folded
- Easily wall-mounted and locked
Recommended dimensions and specifications:
- W: 800mm x D: 400mm x H: as slim as possible
- minimum space between lid and surface: 45mm
- minimum drawer height: 55mm
- working surface height from ground: 800mm
- universal mounts inside for most used tools
(riders use same tools in different shapes)
- drawer(s) for other tools and small spare parts
(spark plug, brake pads etc.)
- fixtures for two spray cans and a paper roll
- pocket for goggles
**Check the photo, above, for common dirt bike riders tools. Upper level tools should be mounted on the lid, others in drawer(s).
