Chris Koenig

My background is in Mechanical Design and 3D modeling. I graduated from ITT Technical College in 1997 with an Associates Degree in Mechanical CAD Design. I also spent about 2 years at Milwaukee School of Engineering taking a variety of Engineering courses. Prior to graduating I worked a 6 month contract postion with one of the largest commercial sky light compaines in the world Super Sky. Super Sky designs, manufactures and installs the highest quality skylighting systems worldwide. In September of 1997 I left Super Sky and got a Mechanical Designer position at Leeson Electric. At Leeson I did DC and Gearbox design using AutoCad and SolidWorks. I worked at Leeson for 5 1/2 years. In March of 2003 I left Leeson to go work as a Sr. Cad Designer/SolidWorks Adminstrator for a campany called Spalding. At Spalding I designed basketball systems, stantions, sports premiums all using SolidWorks. In November of 2007 I left Spalding and obtained a Design Engineer position with the largest high performance rollup door company in North America, Rytec Corporation. At Rytec I use SolidWorks to design new innovative high speed doors for a variety of industries including Car Wash, Pharmasutical, Car Dealerships, Factories, Freezer Industry, Residential and much more. I'm currently still working for Rytec. While working for Rytec I hookup with an entrepreneur who was looking for someone to design and Engineer a new consumer product for cutting hair. In the summer of 2008 I interviewed for this task and ultimatly was choosen over hundreds of others to design this new innovative product called AirCut. I designed and engineered this product in less then nine months working nights and weekends as a side job. I used SolidWorks for the design, and used 3D printed components to prototype and do testing. in August of 2009 we got our first shipment of product which we are currently selling today. I also have done a fair amount of freelance work with a variety of compaines and am always looking for more opportunites. My hobbies are woodworking, 3D modeling and boating. I also have a website where I sell furniture plans that I've desiged and created plans for.
