Mechanical Engineering • January 1987 - January 1993
Graduated in my thirties after having worked as a machinist in the tool and die industry. Primarily involved in the design of a variety of mechanical devices, including injection molds, and other custom dies. Brief foray into vocational education to teach AutoCAD. Learned enough of the architecture to re-enter the actual workforce with a career shift into Architectural and Construction Engineering. AutoCAD was being abandoned by manufacturing and its use drifted toward the building industry, only to be replaced in that industry by Revit, a parametric architecture specific program similar to Solidworks, which is specific to manufacturing. I have been using Solidworks extensively since 2009, and own a commercial licence.
