Rypos, Inc. Electromechanical Engineering Co-op January 2012 - June 2012

Duties at Rypos included organizing, maintaining, and stocking the engineering lab and machine shop while fabricating parts for engineers. Some of the machines used include a drill press, lathe, saws,and a welding station. Ran regular maintenance of test engines which included anything from changing the oil to replacing fan belts. Was assigned several projects involving the designing, ordering parts, and building of component test fixtures and equipment for engineering testing and manufacturing. Ran tests on many aspects of the cartridge systems including electrical resistance and thermal expansion tests. Communicated with suppliers and manufacturers for parts and services on machinery and ensured that operations ran smoothly in area of responsibility.

Raytheon Operations IPT Co-op January 2013 - June 2013

Worked at Raytheon in an IPT (Integrated Product Team) capacity. Main work involvd the Taiwan Spares Program, tracking over 2300 parts from the manufacturing floor through to final sale. Ensured material was available for production and that these items all sold on time. All parts sold either early or on time. Philips Color Kinetics Mechanical Engineering & City Innovations Co-op January 2014 - June 2014

Duties at PCK included supporting both the City Innovations group and the Mechanical Engineering group. Supporting City Innovations involved managing several lighting projects from design to prototyping to material analysis to final product. Most projects began with a design in CAD followed by several revisions until an acceptable design was reached. Once the design was finalized, parts were ordered and prototypes were built. Large projects included a reflector design for a customer, a fixture to modify optics and optics holders, a full-scale media facade installation, reworking a cove luminaire design, and developing a prototype for a new type of OLED luminaire.Ran simulations and testing on various aspects of several fixtures, and traveled to project locations to provide on site support. Supporting the Mechanical Engineering department involved several tasks ranging from updating design drawings to traveling to field locations to provide hardware support. Examples include a custom installation at MIT of a new fixture family, materials testing for manufacturing and waterproofing. Assisted in problem solving for retrofitting projects and fabrication of prototypes in the machine shop.

Immediate Response Technologies Business Development Analyst September 2015 - March 2016

Responsibilities at IRT included furthering business development in several key areas such as expanding the customer base and eliminating redundancies. Major contributions included designing and implementing a recertification and spares replacement program for existing isolation unit product line as well as documenting and subsequently streamlining protocols for sales department to maximize efficiency and eliminate waste. Daily tasks included balancing material availability and production requirements for open orders using enterprise resource planning platforms, conducting customer surveys on ordering process and product experience, documenting all satisfaction and quality issues, and creating, managing and following up on customer quotes to ensure quotes turned into orders.

I culminated my mechanical engineering studies at Northeastern with an oscillating spherical wind turbine design project. The work was challenging but combined with my co-op experiences, it opened my eyes up to my love of design and prototyping.
