Hi All

I know the thread function in DSM leaves a little to be desired being mainly cosmetic but here is a tip for you.

import a step or STL of a threaded bar from bolt manufacturers (McMasters in the states and RS (or Allied) components in Europe are fabulous resources, you can get the parts as well from them. ) and use the combine function in cut mode to slice out the threaded portion.

I have used this method to produce both internal and external threads in my designs which have been dimensional perfect for printing every time.
