Yikes, have not heard of that. It's ugly, but you might try restoring your computer to pre-skype.

Activation codes are linked to my online Microsoft account so restore may not work. I have purchased new codes today in any case. I just could not afford to lose any more time on this. I do not have a licence for skype business in my Microsoft office 2016 Pro but to deactivate licence codes just for clicking on skype business seems outrageous seeing as it is built in to the new 1803 Microsoft update.

I will write to customer support on this.

Microscam update.

Just called the microscam customer support.

Quote : "Your 2016 product codes were original one time use only codes. These codes have now been been blocked by microsoft."

It seems Microsoft's new 1803 update is simply new ransomware software. Plain and simple.

Intentionally laid traps to deactivate original product codes with the intention to force customers to pay more money. This is the definition of ransomware software.

I am still simply stunned by the actions of microsoft on this.

That is a cool piece of software but it would not have helped in this case.

Because all my computers are linked on a network and each computer on the network is linked to my microsoft account, when I reported this to microsoft and they told me tough luck ! I mentioned I will inform other users of this.

They then saw fit to retaliate by disabling all of my product activation codes on all my microsoft products on all of my computers over the next 24 hours via my microsoft main account linked to my network.

I like to be honest whenever possible but this level of contempt for legitimate paying users will not do. I will never rely on microsoft or buy microsoft product activation codes ever again that is an absolute certainty. I used to repair and build computers so it was not difficult for me to get around the issue in a short period, reactivate all my Microsoft products this time with full pro microsoft product activation on all products.

I do feel sorry for other users who are taken advantage of by microsoft and have no option but to be held for ransom on this. Fortunately for myself I am not one of them.
