Okay all, I just posted the first part of a four part series, hopefully making us all smarter on how to get full color, full-texture prints out of advanced machines like the J750:

I'm half-learning this stuff as we go, so if you have any suggestions or comments on what would be good for parts 2, 3, 4 (I'm planning some on UV mapping, then Rhino export), I'd love to hear them!
Just FYI, we've added two more parts to my original tutorial, for users who want to get REALLY expert as 3D printing in color!
Here's how to read and repair VRMLs (part 2).
And here's how to wrap textures, UV mapping, and print in clear+textures (part 3).
And if you're a SOLIDWORKS user, here's how to wrap textures in a new SOLIDWORKS add-in called Visualize.
If anyone has ideas for more tutorials, or links to their own, let us know here!
