As a sophomore in high school I discovered my passion for 3D modeling with Autodesk Inventor while taking “Introduction to Engineering Design”. Upon finding my new hobby, I did my best to learn everything about 3D Modeling. Upon mastering Autodesk Inventor I shifted my attention to manufacturing processes and engineering mechanics. I wanted to learn how to design machines using math instead of guessing what size of gear or beam to use. During my Junior and Senior years of high school I attended a vocational computer aided design program for two consecutive years. I learned how to read engineering drawings as well as how to use Autodesk AutoCAD to make engineering drawings. From these classes I developed my ability to visualize an engineering drawing as a 3-dimensional object. For the past three years I have worked toward a Bachelor of Science in Design Engineering Technology at Trine University and intend on graduating in the spring of 2018. I have always sought to learn more than my classes have taught me and continue to seek new knowledge about engineering, especially in topics that I have not reached in class.
