Best frame design for a tree with branches?

We all know that triangles are a structures best friend....but...I have this giant base structure I want to design for a tree - so I was thinking of using a hexagon, or smaller triangles in a truss system?

I'm thinking of starting with some columns in a hexagon pattern (frame generator in Inventor) - connecting them together - and having the secondary steel cantilever from these columns?

If this tree would be over 10' tall and 20' wide at the top (leaves and branches) - what would you do at the base?

Thank you! :)

if your model is to imitate an actual tree, then I would suggest something like an actual tree root system. The "root" system should be 1.25 times the distance/circumference across as the maximum spread of the branches. This will give your tree good support and stability.
