Can I assemble solidwork parts (.sldprt) in NX7?

I am trying to do an assembly in NX7 but some of the parts what I want to assemble are solidworks parts (.sldprt) and others NX7 (.prt).

Can I assemble solidwork parts (.sldprt) directly I mean whitout change the solidworks parts to NX 7 parts?

Thank you in advance.
Best regards.

Hi Jose, you'll have to open the Solidworks part in NX7 first by changing the file type at the bottom of the 'Open' dialogue to .sldprt, then you can assemble the part.
This actually changes the .sldprt to a NX .prt and it will be a 'dumb' solid with no features, but by using NX Sychronous you can still make modifications to the part.
There is no way of assembling a Solidworks part directly into a NX assembly.
Hope this is clear.
Cheers, Danny.

Hi Danny,

Thank you so much for your answer.

I really wanted to know whether there is any way of assembling a Solidworks part directly in a NX assembly or not.

Regards.
