Checking production drawings for completeness, correctness, etc

By albeckom on 09 Oct 09:37 1 answer 0 comments

When a design is to be fabricated, the production drawing needs to be complete and correct e.g. no missing dimensions. Instead of relying on visual inspection, is there there a product out there that can take care of this if we upload say, a .pdf of the drawing?

I'm not aware of any software which will check for any missing measurements on a drawing, however; In Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk AutoCAD you are able to set all drawings and sketches to automatically dimension when they are done. It may not look the best when you are working and you will likely have to set the sketches to be invisible after you finish them. After you are done you can simply make all sketches visible and delete unnecessary dimensions.
