Question by Vaibhav Pattani

Confused whether to learn and start with CATIA, PTC Creo, Solidworks or ANSYS Fluent? Is CATIA, Creo and Solidworks designed for the same purpose?

If not, it is the best to start with which software?

If you are starting to draw, i recommended CATIA, because you have to follow an order in the drawins, its really nice.

You need to understand your need first.. because if you want to make career in automobile or aerodynamics then CATIA is best. For general modelling purpose proE is used, like casting and forging components.. solidworks is also a general modelling software. Ansys comes under completly different area.. It is a CAE software. Consider different sectors in industry.. you will find more companies use proE or solidworks... because ..1)cost. 2)use. Training in any of these software with Ansys will definetly be beneficial.

My recommendation is PTC, which is best for solidmodelling and step by step takes inside. Catia is also good for surface design widely used in OEM's for analysing Ansys is best. Solidworks is not widely used.
