Export Inventor BOM parts and assemblies

By mz7thc on 04 Jan 21:52 1 answer 0 comments

My excel spreadsheet has to show all part numbers of all assemblies and parts used in a project, showing the overall quantities of all items.
Right now I export the Structured and Parts Only BOM's separately and sort them in excel, selecting all assemblies from one and all parts from the other.
Is there an easier way of doing it because this is prone to errors?

If you right click on the "Structured" tab within the BOM Editor, does this get you the information that you want? I guess I am not really sure what you are trying to do. If you use the Parts Only BOM, doesn't that get you the the total number of parts? You can also merge rows of the BOM table by part number, which should help eliminate some of the sorting that you are doing within Excel. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope this helps and have a most blessed night!
