How can i edit the sketch plane of a spur gear from the design library in Solidworks?

By Rex Bickers on 04 Feb 21:49 1 answer 0 comments

I know how to edit the sketch plane of any other part that I create; but creating a spur gear from the design library seems to force the component (it isn't really a part? not an assembly?) to exist in (or parallel to) the right plane. Even inserting it into an assembly I cannot seem to make it parallel to the top plane which is what I want. The same would be true of any flat part created in the wrong sketch plane, if it is properly anchored to the origin in the first place.
