How do I find the center line of the SolidWorks part.
Two example files are attached; the SolidWorks model is 2016.
The basic idea is:
- Split the model into sections. The more sections, the more accurate the curve.
- Use the "reference point" tool to place a point at the center of each sectioned face.
- Insert a Curve Through Reference Points to create the center line
Estimate the number of circular segments which it is derived, and then create cutaways to tangents intersections before Fredswug as indicated.
thank u FredSWUG.
it's a simpler method yet?
