When I add a spring to an assembly it locks it solid. Is it possible to get the spring to stretch so the assembly can move ?
Is there an example ( like a coil over shock absorber ) in the library I can upload to study ?
Check the video too
Flexible parts are easy to make in an assembly. Have two blocks in the assembly. Now open a new part inside the assembly. click on the surface of one of the blocks. Draw the crosssection of the flexible part, along with a centerline running from the midpoint. Do so too for the surface on the other block. Now add a plane using the centerline and the midpoint of one of the drawings. Draw a line on that new plane, linking both center points.
Now use revolve to make a cilinder, or loft (with the lastline selected as a centerline) the two profiles for more shape freedom.
Fix one of the blocks using mates or the 'fix' option, and now drag the other block away. Rebuild the assembly to see the effects.
The soloution of making a spring as a number of linked sections will work. It's a good work around for not having a flexible part.
I have a flexible spring in the library that will work. Just rebuild after you move the part.
I want lern space block on the solid work
