First make sure the file extension is a usable file by CREO and also you may have trouble between V1.0 and V2.0; as well as, student editions file swapping. For me the best way to upload a file is by having a native .PRT file, but .STEP, .IGES, .STL. should all do the trick. Save the file to a known folder location on your computer like in C: Documents/CREO Model.

Open CREO Parametric and set up your working directory: Click working Directory and locate the folder which your files were saved (as explained above C: Documents/CREO Model) and click ok.

At this point you should be able to click "Open" and all files in the folder should appear. If not you may need to look at the bottom of the pop up box (Open screen) and click file to set the file type to the extension you are trying to upload.
