how is Rhino 5
Anybody got it yet. Is it an improvement over Rhino 4. I know they did nothing with graphics and interface. Does it have the same issues as the old one? Does it even come close to Alias?
Rhino 5 is a large step beyond Rhino 4. Many more tools were added and it is fully 64-bit native, which makes the functions and graphics really fast. Even in beta Rhino 5 was less prone to weirdnesses than rhino 4. The look of the shading in the normal views looks much swankier with shadowing and gloss in real time. Python scripting adds a lot of flexibility and is so so much better than the horrible VBscript. And Grasshopper adds a fluid well designed graphical programming interface, still more new tools, especially for linear algebra, as well as support for interfacing with motion capture and Arduino.
