I have made a bearing and I would like to add a motion constraint to the balls and housing. First I click on the "Constraint" button, then I choose "Rotation-Translation" motion type. The first selection is the inner side of the housing, and the second selection would be the ball, but I can not select the ball.
Is there a way to make it work?
At Dynamic Simulation add 3D contact joint. Make sure You have enough degrees of freedom with ball.
Of course. I did it earlier, but somehow it doesn't worked then.
Glad it worked. Perhaps You consider clicking "It worked", i don't need points but just in case someone has the same problem he can find solution easier when there is It worked tag on.
I added 3D contact joint. As I rotate the outer ring of the housing, the ball is sliding as slow as it has to, but it's not rolling, as it should.
I have added just a Tangent Constrain to the ball.
Yes, I changed the texture on the ball to see if it is rolling. =)
I gave it another 3D contact joint, so now it's working.
Thank You very much for your help! =)
How can You see if the ball is slidind or rolling? Hmm ok, perhaps You can depending on ball texture map. Without seeing the assembly I'm not sure now:
0) Is the tangent constraint necessary?
1) Give the ball spatial joint also to be sure enable 6 degrees of freedom
2) Perhaps You need second 3D contact join between ball and housing plane/plate or something
Read 3D contact help.
Well, You did get one step further anyway :-P Leo
