How to combine two solids

Say you have 2 solid in solidworks. One is a sketch of the top view of an airplane that has been extruded and the other is a front view of the same airpane that has been extruded through the top view. Basically they are combined. Now how do you cut the solids back to eachother?

When you put in the second one, instead of doing an 'Extruded Boss/Base', do an 'Extruded Cut' with the 'Flip side to cut' box checked.

Uncheck merge results for both extrusion features. Goto Insert >> features >> combine.
