open the catia file and click on fille / save as and select "stp" or "igs"
If these options are not displayed you need to upgrade your Catia licence.

Converting CATIA Files to STEP/IGES Format
If you have CATIA V5 files (.CATPart, .CATProduct) and need to convert them into STEP (.STEP/.STP) or IGES (.IGS/.IGES), follow these methods:
Method 1: Using CATIA V5 (Best Option)
If you have access to CATIA V5, follow these steps:
For a Part File (.CATPart)
Open the .CATPart File in CATIA V5.
Go to File → Save As.
Choose the Format:
For STEP: Select **"STEP AP203 (.stp, .step)" or "STEP AP214 (*.stp, *.step)".
For IGES: Select "IGES (*.igs, *.iges)".
Click "Options":
For STEP: Choose AP214 for better color and assembly support.
For IGES: Adjust surface tolerance if needed.
Click Save.
For an Assembly File (.CATProduct)
Open the .CATProduct File in CATIA V5.
Ensure all referenced parts are properly loaded.
Go to File → Save As.
Select STEP/IGES as the file type.
Check "Save all components" (for assemblies).
Click Save.
Method 2: Using a Third-Party Converter
If you don’t have CATIA V5, use a third-party software like:
SolidWorks (with CATIA file import enabled)
Autodesk Fusion 360 (supports CATIA imports)
FreeCAD (limited CATIA file support)
Online converters (some free/paid services exist)
Steps:
Open the third-party software.
Import the .CATPart or .CATProduct file.
Export as STEP/IGES.
Method 3: Using CAD Translators (For Large-Scale Conversion)
If you have multiple CATIA files, use:
3DEXPERIENCE Exchange (Dassault Systèmes)
CAD Exchanger
TransMagic (professional CAD conversion)

Hey Zyd,
We’ve added a translator that allows users to download a CAD file in STEP, IGES and STL formats, regardless of the format it was uploaded in. This makes it easy to share models with partners who don’t use the same CAD system you do. With just one click your supplier can download any of the neutral formats based on the original file you uploaded.
I outlined how to use the converter on our FAQ http://blog.grabcad.com/faq/use-file-converter/.
Have a great day!
