Download the textures and experiment. Sowing realistic water and waves is very limited if you use mechanical engineering software.
The light source is the "environment". assign "liquid" for your water. Also you must increase the size of your environment. If the environment is a typical room, 4x5 meter, and your water is 100 or 1000 meter wide, the little room and its lights can't show anything.
i did it as you said .... but water is still grey
