How to cut geometry after it has been divided? -- CATIA Functional Molded Part

By Gabriel Otrin on 11 Mar 20:16 3 answers 575 views 0 comments

In the Function Molded Part workbench I am able to do a pocket, cut-out or lip (via cutting, not adding) no problem until I divide the part. Afterwards, geometry can be added but not subtracted, i.e. I can create a protected feature but the geometry remains unchanged.

I have been told this is specific to V5R20 that I am using -- i.e. this wasn't present in R17. So is this in fact a problem or is there now a different way of achieving cut geometry features here?

Thanks!

*in picture, I have shown a circular cutout i did before the divide (divide runs through this cutout) and a protected feature produced afterwards. You can see the wall has not been cut.
