Currently in CATIA Drafting I only can use just the circle type for balloon frame. I can see other types of frames but unable to select it(dim color). Is there any method to enable the other types of balloon frames.
The types of balloons available are laid down in standards.
Under Tools > Standards, you may be able to choose which standards file you can use (or your employer may have restricted access to standards for non-administrator users). Select Drafting rom the Category drop-down box, and choose a different one.
If you are familiar with xml files, you may even create your own standards file ;)
i had used the admin mode and customize my own standard, which is in my case every time i want to create balloon it will create with right flag frames as example. However, when i use these standard, it will create the balloon without any frames.
I realize that if for text, i can choose other frames besides circle, but for balloon only circle frames can be selected. Is this true?
Ah, OK. I see I read your question not well enough ;)
A balloon is by definition just that: a circle. That's why all other shapes are disabled under that button. All the other frames have different names and are indeed accessible through placing a text and modifying it's properties. Because the balloon is very often used (in pos numbering), they created a "shortcut" for that particular shape as a separate button. If you'd like to have another shape under a button, you'd have to create it yourself (add a button to a macro; maybe some VB programming is involved in that)
